BIO RAMON LOPEZ · MUSICIAN AND ARTIST
Born on 6 August 1961 in Alicante, Spain.
He began as a self-taught drummer in the mid-1970s. Ramón López settled permanently in Paris in January 1985 and joined the french and international jazz and artistic scene, where he has distinguished himself for forty years.
A jazz drummer renowned for his personal and atypical style, which is enriched by an immense musical culture, Ramón López is currently one of the most respected European artists in the field of contemporary jazz, having recorded more than 100 CDs and performing in concerts and festivals all over the world with some of the most influential and innovative representatives of the jazz universe. Alongside his impressive musical career, Ramón, the son and grandson of photographic artists, is intensely active as an artist and takes part in numerous exhibitions. His painting, presented by several international galleries, is part of important European and American private collections and is inseparable from his musical practice.
Appointed "Chevalier" of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2008, Ramon Lopez was promoted to the rank of "Officer" in 2023.

Il a commencé à jouer de la batterie en autodidacte au milieu des années soixante-dix. Ramón López s’installe définitivement à Paris en janvier 1985 et intègre la scène jazz et artistique française et Internationale, où il se distingue depuis quarante ans.
Batteur de jazz reconnu pour son style personnel et atypique, qui relève d'une immense culture musicale, Ramón López est à l'heure actuelle l’un des artistes européens les plus respectés dans le domaine du jazz contemporain, ayant enregistré plus de 100 CDs et participé à des concerts et des festivals dans le monde entier avec certains des représentants les plus influents et les plus novateurs de l'univers du jazz (*).
Parallèlement à son impressionnante carrière musicale, Ramón, fils et petit-fils d'artistes photographes, mène une intense activité artistique et participe à de nombreuses expositions. Sa peinture, présentée par plusieurs galeries internationales, fait partie d'importantes collections privées européennes et américaines et est indissociable de sa pratique musicale.
Nommé « Chevalier » dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres par le Gouvernement français en 2008, Ramon Lopez est élevé au grade d’ « Officier » en 2023.

Comenzó a tocar la batería de manera autodidacta a mediados de los años setenta. Ramón López se instaló definitivamente en París en enero de 1985 y se incorporó a la escena jazzística y artística francesa e internacional, donde se distingue desde hace cuarenta años.
Baterista de jazz reconocido por su estilo personal y atípico, que se enriquece de una inmensa cultura musical, Ramón López es actualmente uno de los artistas europeos más respetados en el ámbito del jazz contemporáneo, habiendo grabado más de 100 CDs y actuando en conciertos y festivales de todo el mundo con algunos de los más influyentes e innovadores representantes del universo del jazz. Paralelamente a su impresionante carrera musical, Ramón, hijo y nieto de artistas fotógrafos, desarrolla una intensa actividad artística y participa en numerosas exposiciones. Su pintura, presentada por varias galerías internacionales, forma parte de importantes colecciones privadas europeas y americanas y es inseparable de su práctica musical.
Nombrado « Caballero » de la Orden de las Artes y las Letras por el Gobierno francés en 2008, Ramón López es ascendido al grado de « Oficial » en 2023.
